Back From Camping!!

Back from camping! I feel like I spend the past 2 days sleeping on the ground and eating marshmallows, which essentially sums up the past 48 hour's activities.

The trip was good, but had some serious downsides. We were grossly over-charged for our campsite, and the people at the next site over were idiots. Friendly idiots, that consistently offered us alcohol and invites to "come party", but still six people with a collective IQ <500 and a whole lot of obnoxious to go around. They shared their vodka and a fish they caught, but they also shared their horrible taste in music and never missed a moment to host an Ed Hardy parade.

We stayed at Big Fish Bay RV resort, and here is why you should NEVER go there:
- they made us pay for three nights, even though we only wanted Friday & Saturday.
- the showers are $1 for THREE MINUTES (and sometimes it eats your loonies)
- wood is $7/bundle, and they will sell it to you wet with no remorse
- they let douchebags in, who will tent next to you and be obnoxious assholes your entire stay.

Now, I hope every Albertan and Alberta-tourist googles Slave Lake and heeds my warning about Big Fish Bay. Nevertheless, there were upsides to our trip:
- campfire! There's nothing quite like spending the evening around a fire.. maybe because having a fire on our downtown balcony is both dangerous and impractical.
- s'mores! Camping is the only time I will allow myself six or more servings of chocolate & marshmallow wedged between graham crackers.
- tenting! Believe it or not, I really like sleeping outside in a tent. Our tent is awesome!
- time away from the city & obligations. The beauty of vacation is that all your concerns seem obliged to stick within city borders, so all you need to shake work/money/home/life-stress is a weekend away.

Glad to be home!
